Sunset Hill

Today, a pastry-loving friend and I took a 3.6 mile walk in the Sunset Hill neighborhood of Ballard and stopped at Espresso Picolino for a pastry (which was really wonderful).
We walked the streets between NW 60th and 65th from 28th to 32nd Avenue NW plus an alley at 59th Street. The alley may be the nicest I've seen with lots of fruit and produce growing along the borders.

We passed a tree house, Adams Elementary School, the Ballard Community Center, some garden art, old street markers and beautiful gardens on these lovely, tree-lined streets with a nice variety of well-kept homes.

We even saw a peach tree bearing fruit.

32nd Avenue between 64th and 65th Street is home to a small organic grocer, Rain City Video, The Scoop at Walter's and Picolino (restaurant, pizzeria, bar, cafe and a corner addition in progress).

A wonderful walk through a lovely neighborhood ending with a delicious treat.
