North Beach/Blue Ridge

Yesterday, my husband and I took a 5.6 mile walk in northwest Seattle. We walked most of the streets from 9th to 15 Avenue NW between NW 100th Street and Carkeek Park.

This secluded residential area is quiet and has well kept homes and gardens and some streets have spectacular views.

Streets in the western portion are hillier and homes are larger and probably have larger lots but homes in the eastern portion are more affordable and many back onto Carkeek Park.

The western portion has underground utilities so views are unobstructed.

Walking north on Mary Avenue NW, we came to a trail which lead us up to Woodbine Way. We had to climb up a steep trail and both got nettle stings.

Gardens and garden art abound.

A Metro bus connects this area to downtown via Ballard.

It was a beautiful day for a walk in a view neighborhood.
