Mount Baker

Today's 6.2 mile walk took my husband and me to lovely, residential streets in the Mount Baker neighborhood. We walked streets between 30th and 34th Avenues S from S Plum Street to S Mount Baker Blvd.

The area is almost entirely single family homes bounded on the south by Franklin High School.

Across from a Franklin ball field, we could see the Mount Baker Light Rail stop in the distance.

The streets north of McClellen and east of 31st have large homes,

underground utilities, sidewalks,
curbs with nicely paved gutters

and views of Lake Washington.

This area is home to a staircase at Doss Terrace which leads down to Lake Washington Blvd.,

the western edge of Mount Baker Park,

College Street Mini Park,

and some whimsical garden art.

All in all, it was a very pleasant walk.
