Madrona

It was warm when my husband and I returned to Madrona this morning for a 4.7 mile walk along its lovely streets. We were happy for the shade offered by the mature trees on most streets from 29th to 37th between Marion and Howell.

Most of the streets we walked today were residential (we had walked 34th earlier). We climbed a few staircases,

noted where Union becomes a pedestrian path (near 36th/37th),

and 30th split into upper and lower streets (between Spring and Pike),

admired beautiful yards and yard art

as well as unique hanging baskets and porch art.

This neighborhood is home to Madrona Presbyterian Church

and Madrona K-8 School;

it borders on Saint Therese's School.

Another lovely Seattle neighborhood and the highlight of our walk was talking with Frank, a 46 year Madrona resident, church organist and retired UW employee.
