My husband and I walked 3.2 miles today but didn't cover too many new streets today as we marched along 4th Avenue in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. We walked the route to stay warm while we waited for the parade to start and then jumped in behind the Ulster banner to honor or Cavan heritage. My father and my husband's grandparents were born in County Cavan which is in the Republic of Ireland but in the province of Ulster. Maybe next year we'll walk with Connacht to honor my mother's birth county of Sligo.
We admired the green strip painted along 4th Avenue, the marchers
and the spectators (sparse at a few points especially thick the Westlake reviewing stand and at McCormick's Pub).
