North Central Broadview

Today's walk completed one leg of the city! My husband and I walked the last piece of what would be the top edge of a puzzle if the city map were a puzzle we were trying to assemble. I have now walked every street north of 137th from Puget Sound to Lake Washington.

Our 4.75 mile walk included all the streets we had not already walked from NW 130th to NW 145th Street from 3rd Avenue NW to Greenwood Avenue N.

This is a mostly quiet area which changes personality a few times, going from densely populated housing along Greenwood to larger, estate-like homes on the west side of 3rd Avenue NW.

Most of the area is nicely treed. The neatness of the street edges varies with some looking tailored and some deeply rutted with tire tracks.

Buses run along Greenwood and 3rd. We saw lots of cars but only one runner and no walkers on this dreary (but not rainy) day.

Most of the homes showed pride of ownership but a few were in disrepair. Closer to Greenwood, it looked as if some homes had been replaced by multiple "skinny" houses.

Sound views are probably limited to houses on the west side of 3rd, north of 137th.
